Nigg Energy Park with Moray West Transition Pieces ready for marshalling.

Moray West - Offshore Wind Farm.

Ocean Winds has announced this week the successful installation of the final Moray West monopile! This significant achievement was accomplished safely and efficiently by the DEME Group's offshore installation vessel, Orion. It marks a pivotal milestone in their journey towards achieving full operational status.

Each monopile at the Moray West project is extraordinarily large, with a diameter of 10 meters and a weight of up to 2,000 tonnes, classifying them as XXL. This project has pushed the boundaries of innovation in the design, manufacture, transport, and installation processes. The collaborative efforts of the diverse project teams managed by OW Ocean Winds have been key to delivering these monumental components both professionally and safely.

ROAVR supported Sarens PSG at Invergordon inspecting all the XXL monopiles at load in using our Wind-X service.

This milestone also signifies the winding down of project operations at the Port of Cromarty Firth in Invergordon. ROAVR continues to support the project with TP inspection services at Global Groups Nigg facility.

Ocean Winds is moving into the next phase of installation, which includes transition pieces, wind turbine generators (WTG), and blades. This progress brings them ever closer to the full delivery of the project.
